Planned Giving

A gift made through your life or through provisions in your will, regardless of the size, is welcome and sincerely appreciated. The Canadian Foundation is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency and complies with requirements pertaining to registered charities designated as public foundations. Your gift may entitle you to a charitable tax credit. An important aspect of giving is understanding the two Convalescent Funds – Convalescent Relief Fund which provides annual cash contributions to the Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Canada and the Convalescent Endowment Fund – an irrevocable trust fund supported by donations from Canadian Subordinate Temples, Daughters of the Nile, individuals, wills and bequests, matching gifts and the My Gift incentive program. Each calendar year the interest income from the CEF is distributed to the Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Canada.

Wills and Bequests

A bequest to the Daughters of the Nile Canadian Foundation will continue supporting Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Canada after your death.
A bequest to the CEF should be provided for in a specific manner, whether it is for specific monetary value, the residue of your estate, as a contingent gift or by earmarking the fund to be the beneficiary of a life insurance policy. As a significant donor, you will want your gift to be handled correctly; therefore, a variety of examples are provided below. REMEMBER, please consult with your personal legal counsel, expert or legal advisor in your locality before adding to or changing your will.
